My Thoughts on the RNC.....Day 1

Written By: Enjelle Mitchell

So, the RNC kicked off on Monday, I was expecting a spectacle, but it turned out to be an even bigger circus than I could have imagined. We witnessed Donald Trump with what looked like a maxi pad covering his ear, a wannabe white male preacher with blue eyes trying to convince everyone that "Trump believes in God," even though it's clear that Trump has never genuinely stood for religious principles.

The event also featured Tim Scott shouting passionately while bearing an uncanny resemblance to the donkey from "Shrek." And to top it all off, Amber Rose appeared on stage, claiming that Trump represents everything she stands for. This is particularly disheartening given Amber's previous involvement in the "Me Too" movement. It's truly sad to see a woman who once championed victims of sexual predators now supporting a man who has been accused of and surrounds himself with rapists, pedophiles, and racists.

Donald Trump is a disgrace to this country. It's astonishing to see people, especially Black people and other minorities, stand with Trump. personally I hate Trump. I can't stand to see his face. He is a sexual predator, a racist, and a bigot who only cares about himself and his inner circle.

Amber Rose mentioned that when she told her father "Trump was racist," her father challenged her to show him any evidence of racist behavior. She claimed to have done her "research" but couldn't find anything. Well, Amber, I'd be happy to share several instances where Donald Trump made racist comments, along with the sources:

Mexican Immigrants Remarks (June 2015):

  • During his presidential campaign announcement, Trump stated, "When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with them. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Remarks on Judge Gonzalo Curiel (June 2016):

  • Trump claimed that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who was presiding over a lawsuit against Trump University, had a conflict of interest due to his Mexican hghtre nature of slavery.

"Shithole Countries" Comment (January 2018):

  • In a meeting with lawmakers about immigration, Trump allegedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador, and African nations as "shithole countries" and questioned why the U.S. should accept immigrants from these places instead of countries like Norway..

  • Source Attack on Four Congresswomen (July 2019):

  • Trump tweeted that four Democratic congresswomen of color (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib) should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came." All four women are U.S. citizens, and three were born in the United States.

  • Source Central Park Five Comments (1989 and 2019):

  • In 1989, Trump took out full-page ads in New York City newspapers calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, five Black and Latino teenagers wrongfully convicted of rape. Even after their exoneration, Trump continued to insist they were guilty.

It's sad to see what America is becoming. We have some of the most ignorant and disrespectful people occupying positions of power. Although I don't condone any violence that Trump faced, I do believe that what you reap is what you sow. In my opinion, Trump doesn't deserve any sympathy. He showed no sympathy to the families of Uvalde, the young Black boys of the Central Park Five, the victims of the Charlottesville shooting, or the victims of Kyle Rittenhouse, who were simply protesting for their rights.

Political violence is never the answer, but when you constantly incite violence, much like the January 6th insurrection, it's hard to feel any sympathy for you. Trump is a racist, sexist, misogynistic bigot who doesn't deserve any support. He is literally the worst thing to happen to the American people. I pray for the day he is held accountable for his actions. People tend to forget that this man is a literal threat to the American people. And Trump supporters are the worst human beings on earth.
