New Orleans, LA- We all know about the benefits of being in New Orleans. New Orleans is known for its culture, tasty food, southern hospitality, and music. But, besides all of that, this city needs healing.
The people of New Orleans are sick and tired. You can't do anything without fearing for your life. Everybody nowadays just stays inside. Hell, you're not even safe inside of your own home. The ones committing these acts of violence are mainly children, more specifically, young black men. It's tiring. You can't get food without someone going into the restaurant and shooting. You can't get gas without someone trying to shoot you and/or rob you. You can't sit in your car without a stray bullet hitting you. It's horrific. It's a warzone here.
The mayor is doing all she can, but it is simply not enough. These parents need to be held accountable! Stop sitting around, pointing the finger at others, the school, etc. How about you start with taking accountability? Stop befriending your child and parent. The schools can only do so much! Stop trying to shift blame to the teachers at these schools, they can only do so much. If you look at it, these children aren't being pushed to their full potential. In fact, some of them are not being pushed at all. It's sad to see these black youths resulting in "street life". Where are the positive influences? Where are the good role models? Why continue to discontinue the only things that can benefit these kids?
We see it every single day. These young folks are losing their lives over nonsense. The young folks are robbing people for no reason whatsoever. These young folks are disrespecting their elders. These young folks constantly try, and one up one another. These young folks are constantly taking their anger out on everybody else instead of trying to figure out the root cause of the issue. They simply do not care, and nobody is trying to help them. This is their cry out for help. We’re tired and I know for sure that they’re tired. We’re tired of seeing black youths dead on the streets. We’re tired of seeing them going to jail. We’re tired of seeing them fail. We’re tired of seeing them hurt. We’re tired of seeing them turn to violence to get what they need. It’s tiring for everybody.
Does it get any better?
