Tell us about Rickey Hill Jr

“ I am a devoted man of christ, a motivator, an influential person in regards to self-development and helping people identify who they are in Christ, also I use the things that I have overcome in my life to help keep people from making the same mistakes that I did. I would also describe myself as a beacon of light.”

What would you say has been your greatest accomplishment thus far?

“ My most significant accomplishment thus far has been getting in alignment with God. I also discovered who I am with the help of God. Everything else outside of me, which I have placed so much importance and value on, is only temporary. I discovered that when I discovered who I actually was. Discovering oneself is discovering the one from which I have come, the one who created me. To me, this is my most significant accomplishment.”

Who is your biggest inspiration?

“My biggest inspiration would be the Lord himself. I know he’s not someone that we can physically see, but because I discovered who I am through him, I know that he is real. He is pure, raw, and unconditional love. He’s fought for me and he’s gotten to know me as I have gotten to know him. To me, that’s pure greatness nothing else outside of me can come close to it. Now don’t get me wrong, I used to look up to ball players, entertainers, and what have you but all these people were kind of flawed. A lot of them were on drugs, in and out of jail, and it let people down because we looked up to these people. But the Lord is forever here, he’s someone I can look up to. He filled that void and he continues to fill that void. Therefore, he is my biggest inspiration.”

Who has kept you on your feet?

“I have to divert this back to the highest, the Lord Jesus Christ himself. He has delivered me from so much. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for him. He’s kept me and delivered me through the storm and as his word says “ whenever you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” And he has shown that to me even when I wasn’t consciously aware that he was the one pulling all the strings in my life. He watched over me, he protected me, and he allowed me to experience certain trials and tribulations. That just made it all the merrier once I did become aware of him. It was like an epic love story! “

What’s a valuable lesson you have been taught thus far?

“A valuable lesson that I have been taught so far is to not make permanent decisions in temporary seasons. Prior to finding God, I struggled with this. I would always make irrational decisions right off the bat. I would rarely give it any thought, I just did it because I was in survival mode. But as I began to be enlightened on myself and the Lord. I found out that all of the decisions that I made were only for the season that I was previously in. The things that are exterior of you ie the culture, the people in your environment, the relationships that you had, family members, jobs, material status, and social status were used to define you in which you made very poor decisions, all of that was just temporary. Those were just stepping stones to get you where you needed to be. All of those things did not really mean anything. You cannot make those kinds of judgments, especially in regard to your life and your livelihood based on temporary things. Everything that we are experiencing now is just temporary. The Lord is eternal, you can’t compare temporary to eternal. That was one of the most valuable lessons that I have learned and it humbled me even more. As a result of that, I now make very wise decisions, and as it says “understanding will keep you safe and wisdom will watch over you”. That’s very true because I see it all the time. From the people, I see out on the job, in public, and on social media, people are caught up in the exterior. They do not have knowledge of what’s going on around them and they tend to make poor decisions, that’s a problem that needs to be addressed. It not only needs to be addressed by myself but for everybody. We are all called to take accountability for our own lives and we need to stay rooted in the one whom we’ve all come from which is the Lord Jesus Christ himself.”

What do you want to accomplish?

“I want to be able to make men of all ages and just people in general aware of who they are and whose they are. Also, I want them to be able to make conscious decisions based on truth, not fear and lies, just the truth of who they are. That way we can start to see the change that God sees in us when he looks at us because he doesn’t condemn us when we make all of these drastic and dangerous decisions living outside of his will. He could choose to be mean and vindictive and call it quits but he doesn’t. I would like to continuously be that beacon of light, to stand out in the crowd regardless of the backlash, slander, comments, etc because I have already experienced these things on multiple levels. The people need to be given the honest truth. They need to be given the chance to accept the truth for what it is. This is one of the major things in y life that I would like to accomplish and I foresee it coming to pass. The Lord will lead me and I’ll follow behind. I don’t like to see people not be given a fair chance, I’ve very compassionate when it comes to people from all walks of life. I work offshore so I’ve been around the world and I’ve come in contact with people from all of the different countries and I have heard all of their concerns. All of their concerns are the same. I’d like to be a solution to those issues.”

What is your book about?

“I have a book called “365 Fear Not” is not only my very first book but it’s an inspirational book. I was led to write this book by the Lord to be a beacon of light in the world. I’m here to not only be a beacon of inspiration but to also fight for what’s right. We have enough of everything going on in the world, I figured I could at least try to do something. I prayed about it and was led to use the things that I already had. A lot of the pictures in this book I took while I was at sea. I put this book together while I was at sea. It gives everybody a glimpse of God’s most beautiful creations. I feel like we all need to enjoy the fruits of something that’s beautiful, inspirational, uplifting, and loving to the soul. We as people have to stay attached to what we come from which is him. If we’re not feeding our minds and souls we become malnourished. People eat but they don’t understand what they’re eating for. They’re eating because they have to but they’re not feeding what they need to. On the inside, the part that matters the most, they’re starving. They have no spiritual guide or meal plan. The scripture tells us “man will not only live on bread alone but every word proceeds from the mouth of God”. That’s my way of trying to inject some of that into the reader through my book. It’s a very beautiful book! I’ve received nothing but positive feedback from the people who have purchased the book so far! You can get the book on Amazon, it will be sent right to your front door! Or you can purchase the book from the Square app. If you would like to purchase the book that has my signature in it, you would have to order it through the Square app.”

What’s something you want the readers to take away from your book?

“ I want the readers to know that whatever it is that you’re going through, you can always make time to just step away in order to connect not only with the earth but with the highest. Take a breather. Get in tune with your creator. Give yourself that much respect to put things on hold that are hurting you, abusing you, and that are not making you feel like the best version of yourself. We give time to everything else, give time to yourself and him. Just tap in. Also, I want the readers to be inspired, uplifted, and encouraged. I know that if I can do it, anybody can do it. I honestly didn't know I could write a book. If it wasn’t for God telling me that I could do it, I would’ve never known.”

Tell us about “Relate Camp”

“ ‘Relate Camp’ is a nonprofit that my brother, Sidney Tyson, in Christ introduced me to. He’s had this business for well over 17 years and he asked me to come aboard. It’s an organization that caters to men, ages ranging from 12 and up, in order to get them into enlightenment with the highest. They learn about their role as a kingdom man. There’s a big difference between a man and a boy and what God considers men to be. We’re going to be teaching the principles of what it is to be a man. We’re also going to be teaching them about the code of ethics of God, the foundation, and what’s expected of them. We’re going to get them educated and set up to be suitable men in society. The way the world sees men today is making it seem as if all they do is worry about women and money. We’re going to go back to what the scripture says. This camp will not be anything like a YMCA. There will be physical activities that they would be doing such as basketball and swimming but it’s going to be centered around God’s key principles and what’s expected of them through the lens of God. We also offer a “Relate Through Transparency” men’s group. We host these the first week of the month and the last week of the month. We go over all the basics of the king’s principles and knowledge. We’re just getting them all by one from all walks of life.”

"Never give up. Never stop trying. Never stop trying to do the right thing. Owe it to yourself to take accountability and start doing self-evaluations based off of God's word. Don't take what everybody says to heart. You'll save yourself a lot of heartache and problems as long as God is beside you. " - Rickey Hill
